Protein Needs

Written by Andi Balog

Protein is BY FAR the most under-eaten macronutrient. The majority of those who eat enough protein (aside from body-builders and those in the fitness industry) are only hitting their daily protein requirements when they OVER-EAT total calories!

This is an issue as you do NOT want to be over-eating on a daily basis & you definitely don't want to be lacking protein.

Here are some recommendations from my blog meal plans:

Your Protein Requirements

Bare minimum: 0.8g/kg

This is where most of my clients sit (or below!!) when they initially start working with me.

For optimum health: 1.8-2.7g/kg

If you can increase your protein intake and balance total calories, you will be on your way to improving your immunity, ability to build muscle, increasing insulin sensitivity, bone and muscle strength, and many other benefits.
