My name is Anna Squires and I’m proud to be a representative of the Glucology brand! I’m a 20-year-old Missouri, USA native and have been living with type 1 diabetes for over 11 years. I’m currently studying IT Management at Western Governors University, and in my free time I love to work out (Pilates is my favorite), take pictures — in front of the camera and behind — and read; my favorite books are self-improvement centered because you can never stop growing! I also compete in beauty pageants and hope to represent the diabetes community on the national and international level.
I’m so excited to be working with Glucology because as someone with type 1 diabetes, it’s hard enough to stay organized, let alone find pieces that let you look cute while doing it. Glucology allows me to do both! Using the travel case gives me peace of mind knowing all of my supplies are well protected and well traveled.
In 2022 I hoped to gain the title of United States of America’s Miss Missouri and to then compete at nationals in 2023. There has never been a national titleholder in any pageant system with type 1 diabetes and I, for one, think it’s time that changes!
I also hope to use my platform to promote diabetes awareness and education to help everyone understand the challenges. I'm also working on my time in range, although 100% hasn't happened yet ;)
