Grayson was diagnosed on 9 April 2020 at 4 years old - during the first level 4 lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic here in New Zealand. We spent 5 nights in hospital while we learned how to deal with Type One.
Nearly two years in on our Type One journey with Grayson, I have learned a huge amount:
How to be a nurse (overnight!)
How everything he does has an effect on his blood glucose level
How my son has joined the ranks of being a brave warrior
Type One diabetes will always be there but we don't let it define Grayson
I am passionate about spreading awareness of this invisible chronic disease. I want Grayson to be proud of his cgm and insulin pump and be able to spread awareness to others that are curious or ask him about it. I love to share out experiences on our IG page, and also share products and tips that we have found useful for Type One life.
I don't ever want Grayson to feel alone with Type One.
