Here are four short tips for dealing with a hypo:

1. Carry Fast-Acting Glucose

Always keep fast-acting glucose, like glucose tablets or gels, with you to quickly raise low blood sugar levels during a hypo.

2. Follow the 15-15 Rule

If your blood sugar drops, consume 15 grams of carbohydrates and check your blood sugar after 15 minutes. Repeat if needed.

3. Avoid High-Fat Foods

High-fat foods slow down glucose absorption, making them less effective for treating hypoglycemia. Stick to simple carbs for faster relief.

4. Monitor Blood Sugar Closely

After treating a hypo, continue to monitor your blood sugar levels to ensure they return to a safe range and remain stable.
