DIABETES MEET 'N GREET: PHOEBE

by IBD Medical on May 17, 2022

Hi, my name is Phoebe, I’m 25 years old. I am a primary school teacher and an advocate for type 1 Diabetes. Once a year I am a mentor at a Type 1 Diabetes camp and a lot of the teens and kids are now adults. Some of my favourite things are singing, which you can occasionally find a video of me singing, being obsessed with dogs and spending time with my husband.

This year is my 22nd year of Type 1 Diabetes. Back in the day where I didn't know hardly anyone else like me until camp. I found it hard being able to look up to people with Diabetes as when I was diagnosed hardly anyone knew about it and there wasn't many ways of connecting with people with Diabetes. I spent 21 years injecting and after a scare in 2020, I started using a pump and cgm.

When given the opportunity to be a Glucology influencer, I jumped at the opportunity. I have bought a few things from Glucology and thought they were great products and how they are creating things to make managing Diabetes is amazing. Glucology offers me the ability and the platform to be myself and show people that Diabetes will cannot stop you from doing the things you love.

Goals for 2022
1. Continue to advocate for people with Type 1 Diabetes.
2. Push the CGM4all in all ways possible.
3. Save for a house.
