As part of a 5 week exclusive video series, Glucology is partnering up with Warren Bingham to share a behind the scenes walkthrough into his personal insights and experiences of living with T2D. This series hopes to unite us together as we take you through a now and then journey to provide a lens that will inspire, motivate and at the very least share the assurance that you are not alone.

After going through seeking advice from friends and family, and realising how overwhelming it was, Warren reached out to Diabetes NSW to take matters into his own hands. This began the journey that helped him better shape his mindset around embracing his diabetes, and having the awareness that sometimes people's reactions won't be to what you had assumed.

Warren shares his biggest lesson of building a sense of ownership, which helped him lean more towards finding confidence. Accepting and understanding that the only person that can make anything happen is himself, Warren wants you to know that you should be proud because you're at the very least actively having to look after your health. This is where he found a lot of motivation in embracing his health journey and using it as a reason to live a much healthier life (and try out unique sports such as windfalling with a kitefoil).

One advice Warren would like to give is to remember that you've got the rest of your life ahead of you, so take things one day at a time and give yourself a break.

Remember to always seek advice from your medical practitioner before changing anything about your diabetes management. The above information is not medical advice.
